John Diaz is a professional trumpet player, and music educator.  He earned his high school diploma from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  After graduation, he toured Europe with the United States Collegiate Wind Band playing his trumpet. He earned his Bachelors Degree of Music Education at the University of Arizona where he was selected to perform at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.  In 1986, he performed as a member of the Statue of Liberty Fanfare Band for the 100^th year celebration of the Statue of Liberty in New York City.   In 1987, John taught high school band for three years at Nogales High School before earning his Master’s Degree in Music Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1992.  From 1996 to 1999 he was the Las Vegas Brass Band conductor and conducted many concerts in Clark County and recorded a CD.  From 1998 to 2001, John played trumpet for a swing band called Uncle Sugar and the Sweet Daddies which performed on the Las Vegas Strip.  John is a retired award winning band director for the Clark County School District, and is currently the Program Director for the Las Vegas Youth Symphony Orchestras.
